The Taste of a Sole is a short film that follows a couple who encounter an eccentric Sommelier at a wine tasting event who’s peculiar talent may be the very thing that tears them apart.
The ominous and perplexing nature of the film is explored through the intense wine tasting experience, surrounded by the colour red and the reactions of the couple to Sommelier’s invasive personality accompanied by classical piano.
As the writer and director for The Taste of a Sole, my aim for the film was to create a satire of the wine tasting community, exploring the pompousness and mockery between those in the community and others who have little to no interest in it.
This film is for those who are a member of the wine tasting community and the people that like to ridicule them for their hubris and self importance.
